                                                                    WE NEED YOU!
We are always looking for new members, whether experienced musicians, those who would like to resume playing after a break or those who have always fancied having a go!

We welcome members of any age, gender, race, religion or background. Our members currently range in age from seven to seven decades and are all civilians with a wide range of occupations who enjoy the musical and social aspects of band membership. The only real pre-requisite for membership is a good sense of humour!

We will commit to teaching you to play or to dance so long as you are willing to attend practices as regularly as possible and to spend some time practising at home. You do not have to be able to read music already, we will teach you as part of your course and all our learners work at their own pace so there is never any pressure to keep up.

The band will provide all necessary tuition free of charge! The only charge levied is a nominal amount to cover hall hire fees on Mondays and for dance practices. You could learn to play the bagpipes, or the bass, tenor or snare drum. You could also train as a Drum Major or learn the art of Highland Dancing.

Initially no special equipment will be needed. The band will be happy to loan practice chanters, drum sticks and even dance shoes whilst you decide if this is a hobby you will enjoy. Once you decide to stay, it is normal for pipers to purchase their own practice chanters and dancers their own shoes. These can all be ordered via the band.
When performance standard is reached the band will provide all necessary uniforms for both musicians and dancers.

Practices for the band are held on:
Monday at The function room of the Shakespeare, Braunstone Lane, Leicester from 7.30pm
Wednesday at Birstall Social Club, Wanlip Lane, Birstall from 7.30pm.
Wednesday is the main weekly practice and probably the best time to pop in and see us. For Monday practices please  contact us first as times may vary.

Practices for dancers are held on:

Tuesdays, (advanced dancers only),  and Thursdays at Hathern Village Hall, Hathern, near Loughborough. Both classes begin at 6.30pm. On Thursday evenings our advanced dancers begin at 7.30pm.

Please feel free to get in touch with Steve Bozon, (band), or Suzanne McKenzie, (dancers), via the contact us page for a chat prior to popping in. It means that we will be expecting you and as practice nights can be really busy, we will have put time aside to make you welcome and to show you around.
It is worth noting that at band practices all children must be accompanied by an adult.

There really is no time like the present so call or email us today to discover a fun, challenging and truly rewarding pastime.

We look forward to hearing from you!
